ABOUT THE CARE LEADERS MASTER CLASS
This train the trainer master class is aimed at care experienced young people. The master class focuses on several key themes; presentation, facilitation, public speaking and reframing young peoples narratives.
The train the trainer master class is a fast paced learning environment designed to equip care experienced young people with the confidence and skills needed to deliver engaging and inspirational training for social work professionals. The aim is to train care experienced young people who will become their local authorities masters of training. They will provide expert training sessions that have been designed by other care experienced individuals, that are underpinned by an experiential learning approach. Once the programme is completed trainers will be given opportunities to facilitate training with their areas to a range of social work professionals with the aim of sharing care experienced voices throughout the organisation.
THE FINER DETAILS
This workshop is available to young people of care leaving age. We are able to facilitate this training over one, two or three days. The workshop is adaptable and although we have a set session for this inspirational workshop, we're always happy to tailor this to your service or young peoples developmental needs.
FOR CARE EXPERIENCED YOUNG PEOPLE
Who this Workshop is for
This training is aimed at young people of care leaving age, or those approaching leaving care age.
We can train up to 30 delegates in one session.

Length of this Workshop
This workshop is adaptable, we can facilitate this over 1, 2 or three days. 1 day being a taster session and 3 days will provide the complete training.
The session length is 5 hours per day (usually 10am - 3pm).

How to build confidence as a public speaker, focusing on eye contact, gestures, vocal variety
Developing high impact, informative and engaging speeches
How to assess and evaluate speaking of yourselves and others

Practitioners, managers and all professionals working with children and young people will have a better understanding into the experiences of the children and young people they work with.
Relationships between young people and professionals will be improved. The master class has been designed to encourage and promote collaborative working between professionals and young people.
Supporting the voices of looked after children in your area. Empowering young people to share their experiences and lessening the power in differences between professionals and young people.
There are opportunities to improve service delivery through consultation events and training delivery to wider audiences.
Local Authorities and Agencies can highlight and celebrate the achievements of the young people they care for.
Young people feel more listened to and respected. This creates effective decision making as young people feel empowered to be involved their care planning.
