The Workshop for Foster Carers, Social Workers and Residential Staff
REFERRALS AND PROFILES MASTERCLASS
ABOUT PROFILES AND REFERRALS MASTERCLASS
The training aims to develop wider understanding around the records kept on children and young people in care. In particular, the training will focus on providing participants with experiential opportunities which encourage and promote an authentic child focused approach when recording, reporting and receiving, information in relation to a looked after child.
This particular master class is delivered to social work professionals, foster carers, residential care workers and placements teams. The focus is to facilitate a programme that explores some of the difficulties that can arise for both the placing team, the carers and as importantly, for the child, when matching and planning placements.
Throughout the master class participants will have time to explore, discuss and reflect on the power of writing and how children’s journeys in care can be written to provide context whilst providing character and identity, for those wishing to care for them.
